Organised by Nikon Malaysia in conjunction of their 10th Anniversary four-day celebration event held at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
I discovered the event by chance on the 3rd day of the event and the hall was about to close for the day when I was there. I went back for a look-see again on the 4th day. As I dropped by the ‘Be Creative with Nikon’ Contest counter I was reluctant to take part in it but as I left the place the eureka moment came. Immediately I rushed to the nearest stores to pick up some marker pens and drawing pencil, and off I went in to Starbucks for a sip of chocolate drink while surfing the net to research on the range of Nikon cameras from the old days to the present. That set the concept I had for the Nikon creative contest entry. The rough sketch of the idea was done on a Starbucks napkin as a reference and I was good to go.
Here was the drawing process of the Nikon word, from the napkin to the final artwork on a yellow piece of A4-size paper provided by the organiser.
A week later I received an email from Nikon Malaysia informing me that I was one of the five winners of the contest. The prize giving ceremony was held yesterday at Nikon Centre, Berjaya Times Square. Check out the rest of the winners and their entires.
Each of us received a Nikon Coolpix S3100 and I got a red one. It is one cool, slim, lightweight digital compact that fits really well on my rather small palm! So grateful that I now have got a tiny digital camera to carry along on my next vacation trip. Great!
Final look at my entry again.
Thanks Nikon Malaysia! From the bottom of my heart. 🙂
